How I survived 7 days in Chromebook exile

So, I picked up a Samsung Chromebook; my thoughts mostly match those written by this PC World journalist in her article, “How I survived 7 days in Chromebook exile.”

To add to this, YES, I did add Crouton so that I could have an Ubuntu machine running, but was disappointed when I discovered that Eclipse was slow as molasses, the Android Development Tools were x86 architecture-specific (as were many other Java goodies, such as Minecraft). I couldn’t use Sublime Text or any other REALLY decent offline text editor (though CodeAnywhere provides a phenominal online IDE.

At least X-Box Music worked. Oh, and there are some neat tricks to perform after the Crouton install.
